What’s the experience like?

The first thing I remember is the sound—soft whirring under my feet as we pushed off from the little shop near the Vltava. Our guide, Pavel, handed out helmets and made sure we could all handle the eBikes (I wobbled a bit at first—no shame). The city felt different from this angle: cobblestones buzzing beneath the tires, a breeze that carried a faint smell of coffee and old stone. Someone in our group tried to take a selfie right away and nearly crashed into a lamppost; everyone laughed, even Pavel.

We zipped past the John Lennon Wall (it’s brighter than I expected—layers of paint and scribbled wishes), then crossed to Kampa Island where you can hear river water slap against the quay. There was a moment when we paused by one of those weird David Černý statues—I still don’t get them, but they make you stop and look. The ride up toward Petřín Tower got steep, but honestly, with these electric motors it felt almost too easy. I kept expecting my legs to burn but instead just watched Prague open up below us—red roofs, spires everywhere.

Pavel told stories about Strahov Monastery—founded in the 12th century—and let us peek inside for a second. The air smelled like hops from the brewery next door (apparently it’s been brewing since the 1400s). We didn’t linger long because there was still Prague Castle ahead. It’s massive up close; you can see how much history is packed into those walls. Somewhere along the way I lost track of what time it was—it just felt good to be moving through all these layers of Prague with someone who actually lives here.
