What’s the experience like?

The morning air in Jhansi always feels a bit cooler than you'd expect—especially if you're waiting outside the railway station with your bags. Our driver, Ramesh, texted us about 20 minutes before arrival, so we had time for a quick chai from the vendor near Platform 1. He pulled up right on time, car spotless and cool inside (thankfully, since it was already warming up by 9am). The car had that faint lemony scent you get when someone actually cares about cleaning.

We loaded up and set off towards Khajuraho. The drive itself is pretty smooth—mostly highway, but you’ll pass through small towns where you might spot women selling guavas or kids waving at the car. Ramesh pointed out a temple just outside Chhatarpur; he even slowed down so we could snap a photo through the window. He spoke good English and knew all the shortcuts to avoid traffic jams, which saved us at least half an hour. We reached our hotel in Khajuraho without any hassle—no random stops, no confusion about directions. The whole thing felt easy and safe, which honestly isn’t always the case with long drives in India.
