What’s the experience like?

I’ll be honest, I almost bailed on the Madrid photoshoot because I felt awkward about being in front of the camera. But meeting Dorian at Puerta del Sol changed my mind — he had this easy way about him, like you’d known him for ages. We started wandering toward Plaza Mayor and he just chatted with me about football (Real or Atlético?), barely even mentioning the camera at first. It helped. The city was waking up around us — someone was sweeping confetti from last night, and you could smell coffee drifting out from a little bar near the square.

Dorian knew all these corners I’d never have found alone. At San Miguel Market, he caught me laughing as I tried to pronounce “boquerones” (I’m still not sure I got it right). He snapped a few shots while I tasted something salty and vinegary — anchovies maybe? There were locals squeezing past with bags of groceries and kids chasing pigeons around Plaza de la Villa. He gave some gentle directions but mostly let things happen naturally, which made it feel less staged than I expected from a Madrid photoshoot.

The light shifted as we reached Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace — that kind of gold that makes everything look softer. Dorian suggested a spot by the Sabatini Gardens where you could see both buildings framed by trees; honestly, I didn’t realize how green Madrid could feel until then. He showed me some previews on his camera and I actually liked how I looked (a small miracle). We ended up just sitting for a minute, watching people stroll by. It’s weird how quickly you can relax when someone’s genuinely paying attention to what makes you comfortable.
