What’s the experience like?

Right after I cleared customs at Zurich Airport, there was my driver—holding up my name on a neat little sign, just past the sliding glass doors. No hunting for taxis or figuring out train platforms. The air outside felt crisp, even inside the terminal, and I could already smell that faint scent of roasted coffee from the airport café nearby.

We loaded my suitcase into the back of a shiny Mercedes—still had that new car smell—and set off toward Basel. The seats were soft, and honestly, I barely noticed the hour pass by. My driver chatted about everything from Swiss chocolate shops to which side of the Rhine has better views in summer. The drive itself was easygoing; traffic wasn’t bad at all around midday. We passed rolling green fields and tidy villages with red-tiled roofs. There’s free WiFi if you need it (just ask ahead), and if you’re traveling with kids or pets, they’ll sort out seats or space for strollers without fuss. When we reached Basel, he dropped me right at my hotel door—no dragging bags through busy streets.
