What’s the experience like?

The first thing I noticed was the quiet hum of the eTukTuk as we zipped off from Paradeplatz — not what I expected in the middle of Zurich. Our guide, Stefan, waved at a woman selling flowers and then pointed out how Bahnhofstrasse used to be a moat (I never would’ve guessed). The city felt different from this angle, kind of softer, even though trams kept rattling by. There was this faint smell of roasted chestnuts near St. Peter Church — maybe someone baking nearby? I’m not sure, but it made me hungry.

We stopped at Grossmünster Church and Stefan told us about Zwingli — honestly, I only half-remembered my high school history but he made it sound like some wild medieval drama. He laughed when I tried to pronounce “Fraumünster” (I definitely butchered it), but no one seemed to mind. The cobblestones in Zurich Old Town looked slick after last night’s rain, so I was glad for the Tuk Tuk’s cover. It’s funny how you can pass these places on foot and miss so much — here, every corner came with a story or a joke.

There were families with kids waving at us as we cruised past, and Stefan had booster seats ready for the little ones (my niece would’ve loved that). The whole day trip around Zurich just felt easy — no rushing between sights or checking maps every five minutes. Sometimes I still think about that view down Bahnhofstrasse just as the sun started peeking through; it wasn’t dramatic or anything, but it stuck with me for some reason.
