What’s the experience like?

Li from the museum grinned when she handed us our first clue — “You’re going to need sharp eyes,” she said, and honestly, I felt like a kid again. The Pirates Treasure Museum in Saint Thomas is packed with old coins, creaky wood floors, and that faint salty smell you get near the docks. We wandered between shipwreck displays, trying to crack riddles (I definitely overthought one about Blackbeard), while other families laughed nearby. It’s funny how quickly you start rooting for your own little crew.

After piecing together the map bits (with some help from our guide, who slipped us a hint after my friend tried to bribe him with a snack), we set out into Havensight. There was this coffee shop where you could grab something quick — I got an iced drink that tasted just right in the heat. Locals passed by with easy smiles; one lady even pointed us toward a mural when we looked lost. The sun was high but not too harsh, just enough to make the colors pop everywhere.

The final stop was this wide-open beach — can’t tell you which one or it’ll spoil the surprise. We had about an hour to dig for treasure (yes, there’s an actual chest) and just hang out by the water. Sand got everywhere, but nobody cared; everyone was laughing and half-sandy anyway. When we finally opened our chest, my hands were shaking a little — not sure if it was excitement or just too much sun. The whole thing felt goofy and real at once, like being let in on some island secret for an afternoon.
