What’s the experience like?

Right from the start, you hear the soft clip-clop of hooves echoing off the trees—honestly, it’s a sound that sticks with you. Our driver, Mike, had stories for every turn: he pointed out the old Dairy building and even showed us where scenes from “Elf” were filmed near Wollman Rink. The air smelled faintly of roasted nuts from a nearby vendor as we passed the Carousel, and I caught a glimpse of families playing chess outside the Checker House.

We made a stop at Cherry Hill—just long enough to snap some photos with the skyline peeking through bare branches (it was chilly, but those thick blankets helped). The horses love carrots; my daughter giggled when one nudged her hand for more. Rolling past Bethesda Fountain and Loeb Boathouse felt surreal—so many movies shot right there. The ride wrapped up at Tavern On The Green, where you can grab a coffee or just warm up inside. It’s an easy way to see most of Central Park without rushing around on foot.
