What’s the experience like?

I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect to get goosebumps when the lights dropped in the Saxe Theater at Planet Hollywood. But the second that first bass line from “Billie Jean” hit—yeah, it got me. There’s something about being surrounded by a crowd of strangers all humming along, some people already up on their feet before the performer even moonwalked out. The smell of popcorn mixed with that faint whiff of cologne someone nearby was wearing (way too much, but it felt right for Vegas). I kept catching myself grinning like a kid.

The guy playing Michael—he had every move down. Our seats weren’t too far back (first come, so we got there early), and you could see how much sweat he put into each step. At one point he pointed right at a woman dancing in the aisle and she just lost it, laughing and waving her hands like she’d won something. The band behind him was tight—live horns, real drums, none of that canned stuff—and when they hit “Thriller,” honestly, I forgot for a second this wasn’t the real thing. My friend tried to moonwalk in the lobby after; let’s just say it looked more like sliding on spilled soda.

I still think about how everyone sang along to “Black or White.” Even the ushers were mouthing the words. There was this little kid in front of us who knew every lyric—his dad kept nudging him to sit down but eventually gave up and just danced with him. It felt less like a show and more like some big family reunion for Michael Jackson fans. And yeah, you can bring kids if they’re over five (I checked because my niece would love this). The whole thing is wheelchair accessible too—saw one couple roll right up front without any hassle.
