Looking for a real Bahamas escape? This private boat trip lets you snorkel reefs, meet turtles, chill at beach bars or just float in clear water—all at your own pace.
Salt in the air, sun on my face—right from the dock, you can feel that easy Bahamian vibe. Our captain greeted us with a grin and a cooler packed with cold drinks. The boat itself? Roomy enough to sprawl out, but cozy enough for good conversation. As we pulled away from Nassau, the city faded fast and all you could hear was the hum of the engine and gulls overhead.
First stop was Green Cay. I slid into water so clear you could spot every ripple over the sand. A couple of turtles drifted by, not bothered at all by our group. Our guide—local guy named Marcus—pointed out a patch of coral where parrotfish were busy nibbling. He even handed me a mask that actually fit (not always the case on these trips!).
We cruised past Athol Island, then dropped anchor near Rose Island. Some folks headed to Footprints Beach Bar (entry’s extra), but I just wandered along the shore. The sand here feels almost powdery—sticks to your feet in a way that’s oddly satisfying. There’s always music somewhere in the distance, mixed with laughter from other boats. If you’re up for it, there’s a floating bar bobbing just offshore—kind of surreal to sip a rum punch while your toes dangle in the sea.
The best part? You get to pick what you do. Some of us went snorkeling again; others just floated and watched clouds drift by. If you want to swim with pigs, they’ll take you (it’s not included though). Snacks kept showing up—simple stuff like chips and fruit—but honestly, it hit the spot after swimming. By late afternoon, my skin felt warm and salty and I didn’t want to leave.
You’re welcome to bring extras! The boat already has snacks, bottled water, sodas, and alcohol on board though.
Nope—it’s an optional add-on. Just let your captain know if you want to include it and they’ll arrange it for an extra fee.
You can choose between a 4-hour or 8-hour private charter. It’s totally flexible based on what you want to do.
Yes! There’s a restroom on the boat so you don’t have to worry about that during your trip.
Your day includes use of snorkeling gear (no need to pack your own), bottled water, sodas, snacks, and alcoholic drinks on board. There’s also a restroom for comfort—and plenty of shade if you need a break from the sun.
