What’s the experience like?

“You have to try my mom’s cherry rakija!” Luka grinned as he handed us tiny glasses, the boat rocking gently under our feet. I’d barely settled onto the Felix 33 when the first sea breeze hit—salty and cool, even though the sun was already warm on my arms. There were just a handful of us on board, all strangers at first, but it didn’t feel awkward. Luka joked about how he never wears sunscreen (“My mother nags me every summer”), and I realized this wasn’t going to be one of those stiff tours where you just sit quietly and stare at the coastline.

We stopped in Trogir for a quick wander—old stone streets that smelled faintly of espresso and sunscreen—and then it was back to the water. When we reached the Blue Lagoon, I honestly hesitated; the water looked almost too clear, like glass over pale sand. But everyone else jumped in so I did too (awkward splash, not graceful). Floating there with my face in the water, I could hear muffled laughter from above and nothing else. It’s strange how peaceful it gets out there—even with people nearby.

The last stop was Šolta Island—Luka called it “mojito man area,” which made me laugh because there was no mojito man in sight, just rocky coves and that weirdly sweet smell of pine needles baking in the sun. We swam again (I lost track of time), then sat on deck eating cookies that tasted like someone’s grandma actually made them. On the way back to Split, I leaned against the rail with a cold beer and watched sunlight flicker off the waves. It’s funny—I thought this would be all about sightseeing but really, it felt more like hanging out with friends you didn’t know you had.
