What’s the experience like?

We climbed onto this glass-roofed bus right by the Champs-Elysées, and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect—eating on a moving bus in Paris? But as soon as we sat down at our little table upstairs (window seats for everyone), it felt more like a cozy restaurant than anything on wheels. The waiter brought out warm bread and I caught this buttery smell mixing with something sweet from the kitchen below. Our guide switched between English and French, joking about Parisians’ love for honking—she was right, you could hear it through the glass every few blocks.

Rolling past the Grand Palais, I tried to take photos but mostly just stared. The city looked different from up here—less rushed, almost soft in that midday light. At Place de la Concorde, my partner pointed out how tiny people looked next to those fountains. Between courses (the fish was so delicate I almost missed it), we listened to old French songs playing quietly overhead. Someone behind us tried to pronounce “Opéra Garnier” and our server grinned—he said he still can’t say it properly after ten years working these tours.

I didn’t expect dessert to arrive just as we turned toward the Eiffel Tower. It was almost too perfect—there’s this moment where the whole bus goes quiet and everyone’s just watching that iron lattice come into view through all the glass. Maybe it’s touristy, but sitting there with good food and Paris rolling by outside… well, I still think about that view sometimes when I’m back home in my kitchen. The tour wrapped up near where we started, but nobody seemed in a hurry to leave their seat or finish their coffee.
