What’s the experience like?

The first thing I remember is the click of shoes on wet cobblestones near Trocadéro, the air sharp with that faint metallic Paris rain. Our photographer, Marco, waved from under a navy umbrella — he looked more Parisian than I’ll ever manage. He asked if we wanted to start by the Seine or head straight for the Eiffel Tower, and honestly, my nerves about posing vanished when he cracked a joke about my scarf being “very French but slightly crooked.” So yeah, we started laughing before the camera was even out.

I didn’t expect to feel so comfortable — I’m usually awkward in front of a lens. Marco just kept chatting as we walked past avenue de Camoens and those famous iron railings. At one point he told us to pause while a couple on bikes whizzed by behind us (“for movement!”), and I still think about how spontaneous it all felt. The keyword here is “private photo shoot Paris” but it never felt staged. Even when I tried to say “Champ-de-Mars” in French and totally butchered it, he just grinned and taught me the right way (I still can’t roll my R’s).

The light changed every few minutes — sometimes gold, sometimes grey — and Marco kept finding new angles. When we reached Bir Hakeim bridge, a gust of wind nearly took my hat and he caught it midair (the hat, not the photo). There was this moment where everything went quiet except for distant traffic and that weirdly comforting smell of rain on stone. We finished near rue de l’Université with maybe 150 photos snapped, but honestly it felt more like a walk with a friend than anything formal.
