What’s the experience like?

“Was that David Beckham’s boat?” I asked, squinting at the mega-yachts anchored off Psarou Beach. Our captain just grinned and shrugged — apparently, in Mykonos, you never know who’s around. The sun was already high but not harsh yet, and there was this smell of salt and sunscreen mixing in the air. I didn’t expect to feel so relaxed so quickly. Maybe it was the soft sway of the brand-new yacht (Para Voce is what they call her), or maybe it was just being out there with nothing but blue all around. When we stopped near Elia Beach for a swim, I hesitated — water always looks colder than it is. But Maria tossed me a towel and said, “Trust me!” So I jumped in. That first shock of cool Aegean against my skin — honestly, I still think about that moment when I’m stuck in city traffic now. There were some fish darting by my toes; someone else tried the SUP board but wobbled right off (we all cheered anyway).

The best part? After swimming, we lounged on these ridiculous sunbeds while the crew brought out platters of olives, cheese, fruit — simple stuff but somehow perfect after saltwater. Chilled Greek wine appeared like magic (one bottle for every two of us). I tried to say “efcharistó” properly; Maria laughed and corrected me gently. We talked about island life versus Athens — she says she’ll never leave Mykonos for good. The whole thing felt easy and unhurried, even though five hours went fast. There’s no big finale here — just sunlight on wet skin and that lazy feeling you get when you know you don’t have to rush anywhere.
