“You smell that?” our guide Ravi grinned as we ducked under a low doorway—honestly, I did. It was a mix of something earthy and sharp, like clay dust and hot oil from the tiny kitchens wedged between workshops. We’d only been in Dharavi for ten minutes but already my shirt stuck to my back and my brain was scrambling to keep up with everything happening around us.
