What’s the experience like?

I’ll admit, I was a little nervous when we landed in Cancun — you know that weird moment after customs when everyone’s holding signs and you’re not sure who’s actually waiting for you? But right outside the doors, there was a guy with our name, grinning like he’d been expecting us all morning. He waved us over to the parking area marked “Tourist Operator & Bus.” It was hot and sticky, but the van felt like walking into a refrigerator (in a good way). The driver handed me a cold bottle of water before I even asked. Small thing, but it hit the spot.

We had our toddler with us and honestly, I was worried about the car seat situation — but they’d already set up a proper infant seat in the back. Our driver, Carlos, chatted with my partner about local food spots in Puerto Aventuras (he swears by this tiny taco stand near the marina). The drive itself was smooth — about an hour or so — and I kept watching the palm trees flick past while our kid napped. There’s something oddly calming about that stretch of highway; maybe it’s just knowing someone else is handling all the logistics for once.

At one point Carlos laughed at my attempt to pronounce “Puerto Aventuras” correctly (I definitely butchered it), but he gave me a few tips for next time. When we pulled up to our hotel, he helped unload everything without rushing us — even waited while we wrestled with our stroller. I still think about how easy that arrival felt compared to some of our past trips where we’ve been left wandering around airports looking lost. So yeah, if you want a private transfer from Cancun airport to Puerto Aventuras that doesn’t feel like herding cattle, this is it.
