If you want to see Barcelona from a totally different side—with friends or family all together—this private sailing trip is hard to beat. You’ll get local stories from your skipper, drinks and snacks on board, plus time to swim or just relax as the city drifts by.
The first thing I noticed stepping onto the deck was the gentle sway—nothing dramatic, just enough to remind you you’re not on land anymore. Our skipper, Jordi, greeted us with a grin and a quick rundown of where we’d be heading. The marina was buzzing that morning—families with kids in strollers, a couple of dogs sniffing around, even a street vendor selling churros nearby. We settled into the soft cushions as Jordi untied the ropes and eased us out into open water.
You get a whole new angle on Barcelona from out here. The city’s skyline looks different when you’re gliding past it—Montjuïc Castle perched on its hill, La Sagrada Familia poking above the rooftops, and that tall Columbus statue pointing out to sea. There’s always a salty breeze (don’t forget your sunglasses), and if you’re lucky, you’ll catch the faint scent of sunscreen and fresh sea air mixing together. About halfway through, we dropped anchor so anyone who felt like it could jump in for a swim. The water’s usually brisk but wakes you right up—one of our group let out a yelp that had us all laughing.
We provide complimentary drinks and snacks, but feel free to bring your favorites along if you like!
