If you want an authentic taste of Muay Thai in Bangkok—without feeling intimidated—this class is perfect for families and beginners. You’ll train alongside locals in a real boxing camp, get expert guidance from friendly instructors, and kids are genuinely welcome here.
The elevator doors opened straight onto the top floor—seventh, if you’re counting—where the air felt cooler than I expected. You could hear the soft thud of gloves on pads before you even saw the ring. Our instructor, Khun Lek, waved us over with a grin that made my daughter relax right away. This isn’t some polished gym; it’s a real Muay Thai camp where pros come to sweat it out. There were a couple of young fighters already warming up, their laughter echoing off the concrete walls.
We changed into our sports gear in a small side room—nothing fancy, but clean—and then Khun Lek handed out wraps and gloves. My son was paired up with another kid about his age; they traded shy smiles before getting down to business. The warm-up was no joke: jumping jacks, stretches, and some moves that had us giggling as we tried to copy them. The instructor showed us how to stand, punch, and block—breaking it down so even my youngest could follow along without feeling lost.
After about 40 minutes of learning the basics, we got to practice with real pads. The trainers moved around correcting our stances and cheering us on every time we landed a good kick. There’s something about being surrounded by people who live and breathe Muay Thai—it rubs off on you. The view from up there is pretty cool too; you can see rooftops stretching out toward the river, and if you catch a breeze through the open windows, it feels like you’re floating above the city for a second.
Absolutely! Kids are welcome and instructors make sure everyone feels comfortable regardless of experience.
