If you want to feel Dubai’s desert up close—riding camels, sliding down dunes, and bouncing across red sands—this morning safari is worth it. You’ll get real adventure plus stories to bring home.
The first thing that hit me was the quiet—just the soft crunch of sand under our tires as we left the city behind. Our driver, Khalid, chatted about his favorite dunes while steering us deep into the red desert. The sun was barely up, but already you could feel its warmth on your face. We stopped for a moment at a ridge; I remember the faint smell of cardamom drifting from someone’s thermos nearby.
Dune bashing felt like riding a wild wave—one minute weightless at the top, next your stomach drops as you slide down. Khalid grinned in the rearview mirror every time we let out a yell. Afterward, we pulled up near a small camel farm. The camels looked half-asleep but friendly enough. I tried climbing on one (not as easy as it looks), and we plodded along for a short loop while our guide told us how these animals handle the heat better than most cars.
Later, sandboarding turned out to be trickier than snowboarding—sand gets everywhere! But falling is half the fun. There was bottled water waiting for us back at the jeep, and honestly, nothing ever tasted so good after all that sand and sun.
Kids can join but should be comfortable with bumpy rides and heat. Specialized infant seats are available if needed.
Light clothes work best—sandals or sneakers are fine. Bring sunglasses; it gets bright quickly out there.
The morning safari usually takes around 4 hours from pickup to drop-off at your hotel.
Bottled water is provided throughout. No meals included on this morning tour.
Your ride includes hotel pickup and drop-off in an air-conditioned vehicle, all taxes and fees covered, bottled water to keep you cool, dune bashing with a licensed driver-guide, a camel ride at a local farm, and sandboarding gear—all sorted for you.
