We drove by the old psychiatric hospital too; it’s huge and a bit eerie, windows catching the sun just so. Not every stop was long, but even quick glimpses stuck with me.

I still think about that moment on Niagara Square when everything went quiet for a second except the pigeons flapping around McKinley Monument.
