What’s the experience like?

There was this low hum of suitcase wheels on the sidewalk as we waited outside our Cocoa Beach hotel — not exactly glamorous, but it’s the sound that means you’re really going somewhere. I tried to pronounce “Merritt Island” like a local and got it wrong; Carlos laughed but didn’t correct me. There’s something comforting about being driven by someone who actually lives here, who knows which exits get jammed up near Orlando (he dodged them without fuss). The whole ride felt less like ticking off logistics and more like easing out of vacation mode gently.
